From my friend...good laugh

Several men are in the locker room of a golf club. A cell phone on a bench rings and a man engages the hands free speaker function and begins to talk. Everyone else in the room stops to listen.

MAN: 'Hello'

WOMAN: 'Honey, it's me. Are you at the club?'

MAN: 'Yes'

WOMAN: 'I am at the mall now and found this beautiful leather coat. It's only $1000. Is it OK if I buy it?'

MAN: 'Sure, go ahead if you like it that much.'

WOMAN: 'I also stopped by the Mercedes dealership and saw the new 2007 models. I saw one I really liked.'

MAN: 'How much?'

WOMAN: '$90,000'

MAN: 'OK, but for that price I want it with all the Options.'

WOMAN: 'Great! Oh, and one more thing...the house I wanted last year is back on the market. They're asking $1,950,000'

MAN: 'Well, then go ahead and give them an offer of $1,900,000. They will probably take it. If not, we can go the extra 50 Thousand if it's really a pretty good price.'

WOMAN: 'OK. I'll see you later! I love you so much!'

MAN: 'Bye! I love you, too.'

The man hangs up. The other men in the locker room are staring at him in astonishment, mouths agape. He turns and asks: 'Anyone know who this phone belongs to?'

April...Blues!

For some reasons this April has been very busy. Lots of projects are in high gear now that I have found myself working extra hours each day in order to meet deadlines. However, when was the last time you actually saw a project finished on time? To be honest, not many. My boss in Hong Kong used to tell me that if you can complete 95% of the project on time than it's considered a success because the remaining 5% would take two times longer to finish.

Right now I am feeling all these projects are just like that - no way we can achieve 100% completion, but at 95% they are acceptable with caveats.

Lost weight, then gained it right back!

Before I went to the cruise trip I was expecting to gain some weight because food was available 24x7 on the ship (including desserts and ice cream). Well, after the cruise I stepped on the scale and was surprised to find that I lost two pounds! Oh boy!!!

Well, that was April 8th, late Sunday night before my business trip to Kansas City on Monday.

Then went to KC for a week and after returning, I stepped on the scale on Saturday April 14th and found that I had gained 5 pounds in five days!!! I thought I didn't eat much in KC; only salads, steaks, and beers :-( Surprisingly my co-worker also gained about 5 pounds so I didn't feel too bad.

Well, a week had passed since last Saturday and this morning I stepped on the scale and I was back to where I was on April 8th (lost 5 pounds in 6 days). I still have a long way to go to shave some weight off my aging body, and I will start it off tomorrow morning on a 4-mile walk for the March of Dimes.

My goal is to go back to about 160 pounds and 28-inch of waistline, haha.

It's been a long week...

Long week for me...tired and have been doing a lot of catch up since Monday because I was out of the office for two weeks. No time to write blog other than posting a couple of songs. As for my feeling this week?

One word - BLANK :-(

I don't even want to think about next week...

If you have watched the latest TVB Drama Series [東方之珠], you might have noticed the hit song called "The Circle Game". Did you know that this song was originally performed by singer Joni Mitchell back in 1968, and by Agnes Chan (陳美齡) in 1972 in the hit movie [年輕人]?

I first listened to this song in 1977. Yes, it was 30 years ago my friends. The TVB series [東方之珠] detailed some difficulties that these singers faced back in the 60's and 70's. Unlike the modern singers of today where you must have the "cute" look in order to be considered in the singing business, back then your ability to really "sing" mattered the most.

Let's revisit the song "The Circle Game" my friends, and I am sure you will like it, too. I will start it off with the clip from the TVB Drama [東方之珠], and then followed by the actual footage of the movie [年輕人] where Agnes Chan sang this song in the movie in 1972.

Return from vacation - and out again for a week

Came back very late Sunday night (11:30 PM) from the cruise and then had to hop on a flight this morning for a five-day business trip in Kansas City. I am very, very tired but the 7-day cruise to the Western Caribbean islands and surrounding countries were absolutely exciting and enjoyable. My family had a great time together and we took a lot of pictures and videos. I am planning to post something about our cruise after my business trip this week.
