April's Cruise Days

On April 1st my family and I will go on a cruise trip for 7 days in the Western Caribbean Islands. I had purchased enough gears for snokering and underwater photography and video. I also purchased a super-wide angle lens to capture dramatic images from and on the ship, as well as on the islands, too. The bad thing (and timing) is that right after the cruise trip I will hop onto a flight the very next day for a 5-day business trip in Kansas City to support a customer demo. I already foresee that I will be very tired at the end of the business trip :-(

i have never been to a "cruise trip" before. it's a different traveling experience, based on itinerary i have read, you don't just stay on board. depending on destination, there are activities off the ship. since i don't live near LA, or Miami, it's $$ when considering a trip. i always wanted to invite my mom to go on a cruise trip. also, just like tours, there are many different kinds of 'cruise' - some targets for matured adults, some for family, some for 'young people. i remembered my roommate who went to a cruise trip with her family (a total of 4) a few years back ... and she brought a formal dining dress (because there's a formal dinner or party in the scheduled) ... and she did have fun! i would definitely ask for feedback from CPMF14. ;)

Yes there will be formal dinners on the ship so we were asked to bring our formal wear so will see how it goes.

I was told that it will be a $$$ trip, especially the tips. Beverages will be charged on a per glass basis...ouch! However, we will get a chance to visit each island so it's worth it.

There will be lots of pictures. I will bring plenty of flash memory cards w/ me as well.
