Pisces!!!

While cleaning up my old boxes of stuff that I kept from my college days I was surprised to find something I had kept (unintentionally) for 20 years.

Here is the picture of it. Anyone remember it?



It was the compressedly-packed towel from 大家樂!

If I remembered correctly this "towel" was given to the customers who ate at the 大家樂 back in the summer of 1987. I asked for Pisces because that was my sign. I also got one for my ex-girlfriend back then and we pledged to keep them unopened for as long as they lasted (however, our relationship ended in 1988, oh well...). For some reasons I still kept it, but honestly I had forgotten all about it until today.

I plan to keep it forever and will take good care of it. Someday I will show it to my grand children and tell them my puppy love story, hahaha :-)

14 years ago he left us so suddenly. Today I am struggling to pick the best song to remember him.

Well, after a long debate within myself, I have picked his 真的愛你 over 海闊天空.

Remembering 黃家駒 - Beyond

One of my favorite singers and excellent music 創作人; 作曲, 作詞及主音. It's sad that he left us at such a young age (31) on June 30th, 1993.

His songs were very influential to the young generations in his era. His style was certainly unique and unlike other HK singers at that time. His songs didn't have that "factory or corporate" like feeling, which was good in my opinion. In addition, for him and his band to perform in Japan certainly wasn't an easy task as well. It was his love and dedication to music that pushed him to go beyond others.

My friends, let's remember 黃家駒的《光輝歲月》.

Well, I was thinking buying these figures for my kids but ended up keeping them for myself.

The latest series from Revoltech of Japan contained excellent details, arms and legs movements.

My collections so far (Saber and Dangaioh are still in boxes, unopened).




Next goals: the Go Getter Series and Kaiyodo from Revoltech.

Although this song was written in the mid 70's but it applied to the families who immigrated from HK to other countries in the 80's during the big immigration rush. The situation got worse when the husbands had to move back to Hong Kong to work and leaving the wives and children behind in the foreign lands. No matter what the reasonings were back then it was a big challenge to the mothers that were left behind to deal with the situations.

However, my thought of this song actually fits the 10th year anniversary of HK Returning to China. If you look back the past 10 years we have gone through a lot of joys and tears, angers and hopes (or hopelessness).
